I think I saw this someplace a long time ago, maybe on Pinterest or something. But it made ME smile. I made one way back then for the fun of it – and it made my kids smile when they saw it. I just made it again today and my college kid smiled when she saw it … even took pictures and sent them to friends to make them smile.
So, I guess this is something that makes kids smile. Give it a go yourself! – Here’s how you do it:

First, draw your little person on the little orange. You may have to try this a couple times to get the proportions right, so it’s a good thing little cuties come in bags with a bunch of them. Go with simple … it will make this work out much better … and really, this will only last a day or so … or less in my case. I ate mine shortly after it made everyone smile.

Second, cut along the lines you just drew … use a razor blade, x-acto type blade, sharp knife … or just peel real carefully (which is how I did it the first time years ago). Be careful if you are using a sharp razor here … seriously, it’s not a normal and common thing to cut people out of orange peels, so it will be awkward.

Third, when you peel off the non little person parts, be careful to keep the hands of the little person firmly still attached to the little cutie. once you remove the non little person parts, peel back the head and legs so the little person is ‘holding’ the orange.
When you are done peeling, simply have the little orange toting person lift that orange onto something and there you have it … leave it there for people to see … and then smile.

Why go to all the trouble? Why not? … it makes people smile – and we can always use more of that. Plus, it’s kind of fun and certainly out of the ordinary … and can’t hurt (unless you cut yourself …).
If you are particularly proud of your little person, use something to wipe off the pen marks you used to outline him or her in the first place … and then you are done.
Have fun making someone smile. ~ dom
